The Early Learning Program at All Saints Episcopal School is committed to building strong foundations by engaging our Preschool, Pre-K, and Kindergarten students, starting at the age of three. By embracing a multisensory approach to learning, our students develop socially, emotionally, and cognitively through hands-on experiential learning.
Social-emotional development is nurtured through Conscious Discipline, fostering self-regulation, emotional awareness, and positive relationships. Students learn to manage emotions, solve conflicts, and build a strong sense of community, creating a supportive and respectful learning environment.
We enhance their phonemic awareness, emergent reading, and writing skills through integrated literacy lessons to give them a firm language arts foundation. In math, strategies are shared, giving students tools to understand developing math concepts through concrete, pictorial, and abstract opportunities. Our program is based upon our guiding vision of nurturing and inspiring curious, confident, joyful learners.
Focusing on small class sizes, with an average of 6:1 student to teacher ratio, we create a safe, nurturing environment where classes meet five days a week from 8 a.m. - 2:45 p.m. We strive to nurture the whole child through the integration of classroom and enrichment time:
Math instruction follows a conceptual understanding, moving from concrete hands-on manipulation, to pictorial representation, and lastly, abstract reasoning using numerals and symbols. Hands-on learning is supported by Math Stackers, Calendar Math, and Marcy Cook Number Sense, laying a strong foundation before beginning the Singapore Math based curriculum, Math in Focus in Kindergarten.
Guided by the Science of Reading, our literacy program develops strong reading skills through Modeled, Shared, Guided, and Independent Reading. Students build fluency with Decodable Readers and leveled resources while strengthening phonemic awareness through daily multi-sensory activities, phonemic review, and decoding practice.
Social Studies is an integral part of the daily curriculum. Our program emphasizes geography, exploring different cultures, recognizing significant holidays, patriotism, and introduction of U.S. Presidents. Through engaging lessons, students develop a deeper understanding of history and global connections.
Students begin their writing journey with the Handwriting Without Tears program, building confidence and fluency from the start. Through Writing Aloud, Shared Writing, Guided Writing, Independent Writing, and Dictation, they develop strong communication skills and grow into expressive, capable writers.
The Collaboratory is a dynamic space designed to inspire creativity, collaboration, and a passion for reading. Equipped with a green screen stage and versatile workstations, it adapts to support students’ ever-evolving learning needs.
In our Explorium, students work together to confidently ask questions, critically evaluate answers, and deepen their understanding of the world. Topics include: Life Cycles, Habitats, Solar System, Weather, Insects, Balance and Motion, Scientific Method, and Matter.
The Oasis 4-D Tinker Lab empowers students to discover, design, develop, and deliver innovative solutions, all while exploring STEM concepts through hands-on learning and creativity skills.
Our Faith Formation class offers students the opportunity to deepen their spiritual journey through interactive lessons utilizing Godly Play curriculum, which engages students through story, wonder, and play.
